In addition to the 9.5, the Italian company unveiled the final version of its mid-displacement adventure scheduled for early 2023.
The other model of the new Lucky Explorer family was presented last year in Milan together with the 9.5 as a prototype, and it is one of the bikes we are eagerly anticipating, mainly because it will become the most affordable MV Agusta.
A tribute to the Cagiva Elefant of the 1990s and the original Dakar rally, the 5.5 also has the same design, though there is one major difference: the front wheel is 19 inches, not 21.
This is QJ Motor's new inline twin (see owner Benelli), which has a capacity of 554 cc (with a slightly undersquare 70.5 x 71 mm architecture), which emphasizes torque curves over high-end agility. For an adventure aimed at the A2 license category, this profile is perfectly reasonable and expected, and its power is therefore limited to 47 horsepower.
Lucky Explorer 5.5, which tips the scales at 220 dry kilograms and has a top speed of 160 km/h, is equipped with KYB suspension and four-piston radial Brembo brakes with Bosch dual-channel ABS.
As with its big sister, it features a 5-inch color TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity for the MV Agusta app and offers a touch of luxury in a segment with high interest and strong competition (such as the Honda CB500X, Benelli TRK502, etc.).
The biggest news, however, is that the new MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5 is expected in February 2023.
