CFMOTO 700CL-X Adventure 2023 at EICMA 2022

CFMOTO 700CL-X Adventure

It is the scrambler mutation of the well-known 700CL-X base that was presented in Milan.

The bike may be called an adventure, but it is more of a scrambler variant than a tall adventure bike. The new bike is described on CFMOTO's global website as a "neo-retro with mild off-road capability".

Based on the Heritage model, the adventure version has the 18-inch wheel in front, as opposed to the 17-inch wheel of the Sport version.

There are few differences in the Heritage's technical base, with the same engine output (69 hp/8,500 rpm, 6.2 kgm/6,500 rpm), but it also has a different Off-Road mapping than the Street, which is apparently geared towards a smoother response and better power supply on the ground.

KYB 41mm inverted forks and cantilever shocks from the same company provide the exact same suspension, with 150mm of travel front and rear. There is also the same range of adjustments as the Heritage: full fork adjustments, preload, and rebound.

On the 830, the Adventure's new saddle raises the position by 30mm, while the handlebars are also higher, 300mm higher to be exact, and 15mm closer to the rider, apparently to accommodate the upright driving position.

Among the equipment features of the 700 CL-X Adventure are: a wind chest, a high front fender, an extension that serves as a very small rack behind the saddle, pannier racks integrated into the tail, and Aurora Blue, a new dedicated color.

The Adventure's spoked wheels are the same size as the Heritage's (3.5x18 front, 5.5x17 rear), but are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires with a narrower rear dimension, 170/60-17.

Despite its differences, the 700CL-X Adventure's scale reads 204, which is eight more than the Heritage, but one less than the Sport.
