With its 459-pound weight and 90 horsepower, the 2023 XL750 Transalp is powered by Honda's new 755 cc parallel twin engine. Honda is likely to bring this model stateside, even though pricing and availability haven't been announced.
Honda Transalp was introduced in 1986. During its decades of production and several model generations, the Transalp gained a reputation as a tough, reliable all-rounder. Compared to Africa Twins, Transalps were smaller, less aggressive, and more road-biased.
With the new XL750 models, Honda has maintained that position, but chassis and technology improvements should make the Transalp more capable off-road.

Engine and chassis
The new Transalp is powered by the same 755cc parallel twin that debuted with the recent CB750 Hornet. The engine has four valves per cylinder, a ride-by-wire throttle with four ride modes (plus one customized User mode), and 55 foot-pounds of torque. Honda's engine design features Unicam valvetrain actuation, which allows for a shorter overall engine design compared to its competitors.
87mm by 63.5mm cylinders have a compression ratio of 11.0:1. A new engine is designed to be the most powerful ever fitted to a Transalp, and the bike is intended for touring, solo riding, or two-up riding. Easy gear changes are made possible by a slip/assist clutch and optional quickshifter.
The engine is mounted on a tubular steel frame, while a 4.5-gallon gas tank is mounted on the top of the frame. At 33.5 inches, the seat height is on the tall side of accessible, although there is an optional low seat that drops to 32.2 inches. Standard equipment includes the tail carrier.
There is a 43 mm SFF-CATM inverted fork at the front and a Pro-Link shock at the rear on the Transalp. With dual disc brakes and two piston calipers at the 21-inch front wheel, the car has a powerful stopping power.
It is possible to switch the rear brake ABS to off-road mode. The Transalp is equipped with tubed tires, which is a surprise considering the Transalp's road orientation. In spite of this, the tubes and non-premium suspension may indicate a lower price. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Features and styling
Furthermore, Honda added five traction control levels, three engine power delivery levels, and wheelie control to the ride modes. All settings and adjustment menus are displayed on a five-inch TFT display.
An NC750X-crossed CRF300L-style LED headlight is included in the new LED lighting system. Additionally, Honda Smartphone Voice Control, auto-canceling turn signals, and an adjustable shift light are included.
With its classic tricolor paint option, the XL750's front bodywork and utilitarian tail pay homage to Transalps from the past. Ideally, the fairing and windscreen should divert wind and precipitation away from the rider without posing a safety risk.
Accessories are abundant in the catalog. To tailor the Transalp to different types of riding, Honda offers five "accessory packs."
