The ultra-luxury Lawrence brought Brough Superior back to the fore after it was founded in England and built in France. First appearing in 1919, the brand was nicknamed the Rolls Royce of motorcycles, but it was shut down after World War II.
Brough Superior came back under new ownership in 2014. In Toulouse, France, it makes a limited number of motorcycles. With Aston Martin, the brand developed the AMB001, an impressive racing motorcycle. Apart from that, Brough Superior has made a bike unlike any other based on a bike that's already unique.
She's the sportier version of Lawrence and her name is Dagger. This sportier version is the Lawrence Stiletto, named after Peter O'Toole's character Lawrence of Arabia in the legendary 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia.
Dagger has a lot of fiber parts. Specifically, the headlight base, the fork cover, the engine covers, the rear fender, and the tail behind the saddle are made from this stuff. There have also been changes to the geometry of the frame so that the motorcycle drives more precisely. It has a lower handlebar, so the rider has a more aggressive stance. Also, the wheels are 17 inches, so you can put sportsbike tires on them.
Featuring a 997cc V-twin engine and gold chrome and black trim, the Lawrence Dagger is built to last. Performance is never the priority for a bike designed as a work of art, even if it produces 102bhp and 82.7Nm. There's also a new exhaust under the "belly" of the bike.
With the exception of carbon fiber parts and upgraded ergonomics, the Dagger is almost identical to the Lawrence. While the price isn't yet known, we can get an idea, knowing that the Lawrence sells for around €66,000, so the Dagger should be a little more expensive.
