The Leoncino 500 was exactly what Benelli was missing in its range: a sporty naked motorcycle with a twin-cylinder engine.
Benelli's new bike was shown at EICMA alongside the TRK800 and TRK702 that had been presented previously - the former last year at EICMA, the latter in China in August.
Tornado Naked Twin, or TNT 500, is built around an engine we know very well in Greece, the inline twin of Leoncino 500 and TRK 502/X.

A2 driving licences require 47.6 hp at 8,500 rpm and 4.7 kgm at 6,000 rpm, but here Benelli has added some touches to its appearance, with a new exhaust and filter box in addition to the side covers on the engine.
It has a steel truss frame, an inverted fork with no adjustments, and a shock with preload and rebound damping.

Front brakes feature a large 320 mm disc with a radial four-piston caliper, and wheels wear tires measuring 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear.
Wet weight of the TNT 500 is 199 kg with the 14 liter tank filled.

A distinctive feature of the bike is its nose, where all the lights are LED, with two vertical headlights in the middle and two horizontal wings on the sides that host the daytime running lights.
The instruments feature the now classic 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity.
