A new adventure from China with an engine similar to but not identical to KTM's 790 Adventure.
There is no doubt that the 800X Super Adventure is one of the stars of Kove's booth at EICMA. This stylish adventure bike has a 799cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 95hp at 9,000rpm and 8.3kgm at 7,500rpm.
At first, we thought the bike used the same engine as the CFMOTO 800MT, which is a Chinese-made clone of the KTM 790 Adventure. Kove says it's based on a "proprietary engine platform", so we can only assume it's something similar to the LC8c.
When we say similar, we mean we have a very similar appearance, but also almost identical maximum performance values with the maximum even coming at the same engine speeds as the CFMOTO 800MT.
With all its fluids, including the 22 liter fuel tank, the 800X can reach speeds of 218 km/h, and weighs a delicious 183 kg!
Her bike has 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels (90/90 and 150/70, respectively), continuing a trend that has flooded the market this year. At 830 mm saddle height, it sounds very comfortable, and at 210 mm suspension travel, it's within the category's broad range.
In Italy, its price was announced to be under €9,000, meaning it has all the ingredients to revolutionize the market. We are particularly interested in seeing Kove up close now that we know she's also coming to Greece.
