Voge's 900DS was one of the most anticipated motorcycles at this year's EICMA, and against the "established" brands.
Voge makes a strong entry into the "premium" On/Off motorcycle category with the 900DS. First up, we have the in-line twin-cylinder engine manufactured by Loncin for BMW. The 895 cc engine in question is the same as the F 900 R/XR (!) with 96.5 horsepower and 91 Nm of torque. Another strength of the engine is the two-way quickshifter, which gives the six-speed gearbox presence. Put the limited slip clutch on the list since we talked about transmissions.
A ride by wire throttle, which allows for customizable throttle response based on Riding Mode, continues the large basket of 900DS' electronic aids. As well as Traction Control and the two-channel ABS, both of which can be deactivated (for the rear wheel for the ABS), ensuring safety on the road and more "free" play on the dirt.
Keeping in mind that we're in electronics, let's also look at those that have the more "premium" character that we predicted, such as the large TFT color screen instead of the multi-instrument that informs the rider up to and including the maximum angle of inclination.
There is also smartphone connectivity available for managing phone calls, messages, and navigation, with indications displayed directly on the 900DS screen. In addition to LED lights, all the "currents" come with 12V and USB charging ports. There are also fog lights, a central stand, cruise control, heated grips, and a heated saddle in the original version!
A 900DS's image has enough of the "Bavarian" genes of the engine, with volumes and lines reminiscent of the well-known GS family. For the dirt kilometers, we have radial, tubeless wheels with Michelin Anakee III (90 / 90-21 "front and 150 / 70-17" rear) on radial, tubeless rims in the front and rear, respectively. Perhaps because the weight of 220 kilograms "dry" is a concern for most "rally" terrains. There is even a shock absorber in the prototype, while the brake calipers have the signature Brembo steering. In summary, the 900DS looks more like a pre-production prototype than a "will" concept. We see a model that could easily be on the road next year based on the details and basic equipment of the three-wheeled show bike.
