Royal Enfield Electric Bike Concept Photo Leaks

 Royal Enfield Electric Bike

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name "Royal Enfield" is probably not electric bikes. Since it's nearly 2023, Enfield has a plan for electrification that it's currently implementing. As of November 20, 2022, it seems that the OEM has recently reached the concept phase of Quality Function Development.

According to a report from late October, the company plans to release the product in 2025. Our colleagues at Autocar Professional recently saw the QFD model and product brief, so if that hasn't changed, the timing makes perfect sense.

In case you are unfamiliar, the QFD concept helps product developers incorporate customer wants into their designs. Although it's part of the design process, it doesn't necessarily reflect the final product.

According to the single QFD model shot that's leaked so far, the Royal Enfield Elektrik01's front right closeup is fascinating. An eye-catching glossy black 'tank' piece is surrounded by a matte silver frame that catches your attention through reflections.

Does it have a trunk? It looks like an airbox, doesn't it? Since it's so early in its development, there's a good chance that we won't know for a long time.

Black matte forks with girder fronts are incredibly clear here. The single round headlight on this concept bike is also matte black. Avon rubber is wrapped around the black alloy front wheel in the photo, and not much else can be seen.

As girder forks are typically used on vintage machines or custom builds in the current era, the Elektrik01 will certainly stand out if it makes it into production.

Autocar also got a sneak peek at the product brief, so they have some additional insights. "Neo vintage/classic" styling may not seem that surprising to those already familiar with Royal Enfield's design choices in the 2020s. Regardless of how they're powered, they know what their fans like, who they are, and they're not afraid to incorporate those choices into future designs.
