Moto Morini reveals two fully revealing photos of the new X-Cape 1200!
Last September, we first saw plans for the long-awaited big adventure from the Italian company, a bike "built" around the engine of the older Gran Passo.
It is an 1187cc V-twin that powers the Corsaro, Milano, and Scrambler, which has been treated to meet euro5 standards for the occasion. Neither horsepower nor details have been announced, but this engine already made 120 horsepower, so it's unclear whether it will stay there, bump up or down.
However, the motorcycle has nothing to do with the factory's previous adventures, and especially the Gran Passo, as here we find 21/18 inch radial wheels with tubeless dirt tires from Pirelli, Scorpion STR.
There are obvious off-road characteristics in this motorcycle with its long suspension travel, inverted front system, Brembo Stylema calipers, huge dimensions on the right side, as well as a design that resembles the smaller X-Cape 649.
In addition to the large X on its sides and the reference to the V-Twin engine, the big one stands out with its volume both in front and at the back. Large fairing with a small vertical fairing that sits high enough to protect properly, sculpted tank where the knees meet, narrow plastic on the rider and passenger legs, large grab handles and a cast aluminum frame, open under the engine, with a large grab handle.
New motorcycle's features include an aluminum protective apron, radial front brake pump and clutch, comfortable and large saddles for both passengers, particularly narrow front part, but also enough volume in the side and rear parts.
