Triumph's Street Triple has been one of the most popular motorcycles in recent years, thanks to its combination of performance, versatility, and sportiness. The competition has caught up to it since its last refresh in 2020. The Street Triple 765 lineup is set to be refreshed for 2023 on Nov. 3.
Despite Triumph calling it an "all-new" Street Triple, it's really an evolution of the 2020 model. It's easy to see the bug-eyed headlight in the teaser posted by the company, as the fascia looks unchanged. Even the tail end and exhaust look the same.
Here, the only difference is the lack of a windscreen, which aligns it with the Speed Triple 1200 RS. We expect some interesting changes elsewhere, but the design may remain pretty much the same. Here's a sneak peek at the TFT instrument cluster in the teaser. It looks like there's a refreshed features package for 2023, allowing more adjustability for riders.
Next, the Street Triple RS's top-spec forks will be Ohlins instead of Showa. This wasn't visible in the teaser, but it was spotted testing when the 2023 Street Triple RS was spotted. There were also clip-on handlebars, a reshaped fuel tank, and Brembo Stylema brakes on the test mule. Those won't be offered on the Street Triple R, which will continue to be an entry-level 765.
All in all, the 765cc, inline-triple mill won't change much. It's already a certified riot on the road, so the 121 horsepower output won't change much. Even so, we expect minor tweaks to make it less peaky and more tractable - something its rivals like the KTM 890 Duke and Ducati Monster do better.
The 2023 Street Triple lineup will be unveiled on Nov. 3. Dealerships will get the new bikes by late 2022 or early 2023 with a revised (read: higher) price. At the moment, the 2022 Street Triple R and RS cost $10,945 and $12,995, respectively.
