The electric motorcycle is here to stay and it's here to stay for a long time to come. It's a reality that seems difficult to change, but it's one the global motorcycle industry embraces.
Manufacturers are mobilizing more than ever in order to produce electric vehicles because many countries are planning to phase out heat engines within the next decade.
There have been a lot of new electric bikes hitting the market recently with performance equivalent to a 125cc bike. 650cc to 700cc electric bikes are rare. With more powerful electric powertrains being developed, it's just a matter of time before electric motorcycles become more affordable and faster.
Despite being involved in electric motorcycles since 2001, Yadea has only just introduced a more sporty model called the Keeness VFD. With its sharp design, the Keeness is pretty much like every other modern nude on the market, from a stylistic standpoint.
The Yadea Keeness has a mid-mounted electric motor that produces a maximum power of 10 kW or 13.4 horsepower. 280 Nm of torque is available. Its range is 140km on a single charge, thanks to two lithium-ion battery packs that weigh 14kg and have 4.6kWh each.
A five-inch LCD screen keeps the rider informed while the Keeness rolls on 17-inch wheels.
Yadea plans to launch the Keeness in early 2023, but its price has not yet been determined.
