There are many types of electric scooters and motorcycles. Before, electric-powered two-wheelers were seen as soulless appliances meant to shuttle you from A to B in a boring way. We have performance machines like those from Energica and Zero. On the other hand, there are stylish lifestyle machines.
Eysing PF40, a low-speed electric motorcycle designed in collaboration with Pininfarina, clearly falls into the latter category. Although it doesn't have physical pedals, it's technically a moped.
Thus, let's just call it a low-speed electric motorcycle, and while its performance numbers aren't exactly impressive, its styling certainly is. Yet, it's powered by a hub-mounted motor churning out 1.5 kilowatts and comes in two versions with top speeds of 15.5 mph and 28 mph.
Let's talk about the bike's styling now that we're done with the boring stuff. The Eysing PF40 was designed in collaboration with legendary Italian design firm Pininfarina. The ultra elegant, retro-inspired designs make themselves the star of this design.
There is a round headlight with a sleek cowl on the front of the bike. As a nod to machines of the past, the gauges are analog.
It features an old-school front suspension fork made of slim metal tubes at the front of the bike. The rear end of the bike gets no suspension. Multispoke alloy wheels add to the sleek, retro-modern aesthetic of the PF40. Additionally, the PF40 has a faux fuel tank that doubles as a handy storage compartment.
Eysing PF40, a two-wheeler designed by Pininfarina, isn't exactly a budget-friendly vehicle. At the time of writing, the PF40 costs 14,607 USD, or 13,780 Euros. A 1,000-Euro booking deposit is also required for this super unique two-wheeler.
