The internet is full of rumors about a new CBR 1000RR-R (with how many "R"s?) coming in two years.
Its peak output is 218bhp, and the next big change will come in 2024 with the all-new CBR1000RR-R. Unfortunately, this will be the final peak in dynamometers prior to the tightening of exhaust regulations. Here is where the guessing begins.
Currently, the most powerful 1000cc supersport bikes produce more than 200 horsepower. It's because they're supposed to be used in races, either WSBK or the local national championships (although a lot of them end up on Instagram).
Honda, on the other hand, has taken a strange approach to things in recent years. Although he was on par with Marquez in MotoGP, his production bike numbers were quite conservative. It is no exaggeration to say that the CBR1000RR-R was developed to win, being 26 horsepower more powerful than the conventional CBR1000RR. It entered the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) from 2020.
In SBK, the CBR1000RR-R has only finished third three times in the last three years, once in each season. His switch from Honda to Ducati crowned him Champion, riding the Panigale V4R with a final lead of 72 points over second place. It will appear at the Tokyo Motor Show (renamed Japan Mobility Show) in October 2023 or the Milan Show in November 2023. For the 2024 season, it should be race-certified and ready when it goes on sale in Japan in January 2024.
