Doukas returned to 790 cubic centimeters, so it was time to restore the Adventure with the LC8c engine.
A few days ago, Mattighofen introduced the updated 2023 890 Adventure and 890 Adventure R, but the latest news was the 790 Duke, an affordable (hopefully) alternative to the current generation 890.
With the 790 Adventure taking a ride through China, this return is now doubled. According to KTM, the two-cylinder LC8c was redesigned at its Austrian headquarters, but its construction as a 790 happens at CFMOTO's new factory in China, where it also builds its "own" engines.
As part of its new Euro 5 version, 95 hp and 8.9 kgm are produced at 8,000 rpm, while a 20% increase in the rotating masses in its axles gives it better stability when traveling at a steady speed (or less nervousness, if you prefer).
For low octane gasoline, new injectors and a knock sensor are included.
As in the 890 and 1290 Adventure, KTM improved the breathing of the 790 Adventure with a new filter box and exhaust, as well as an upgraded Power Assist Slipper clutch, and a renewed 6-axis inertial control unit.
This means the 790 is also equipped with cornering systems like Traction Control, ABS, Motor Slip Regulation, and Ride Modes.
This model follows the same logic as the rest of the Adventure models, including a Demo option that lets you work on all the available electronics for 1,500 km before choosing which one you want.
The rider sits in front of a 5-inch TFT display with connectivity to the KTMConnect App and is given a theoretical range of 450km with a 20-litre tank.
April 2023 is expected to be the launch date for the new KTM 790 Adventure.
